Scott Davies appointed Slough Town manager

Vanarama National League South Slough Town have appointed current midfielder Scott Davies as first-team manager.

The Rebels captain will take over from the departed Neil Baker and Jon Underwood who ended nearly a decade in charge of the East Berkshire side last week.

Davies, along with defender Lee Togwell and coach Manny Williams had been in caretaker charge, but a club statement has revealed it is Davies who will take over the hot seat.

The statement, published on the club’s website, said: “We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Scott Davies as the new first-team manager of Slough Town Football Club.

“We are also delighted to confirm that Lee Togwell has been appointed as assistant manager and head coach.”

In further news, the club revealed that following discussions with the board, Manny Williams had decided to leave the club. Williams, a highly regarded former striker for the Rebels and Maidenhead United among other clubs, had most recently been in charge at Combined Counties League side Burnham.

New boss Davies has played over 100 times for Slough since joining in 2018. The midfielder began his career with Reading FC and played 100 games in the Football League.

Davies first game in charge is on Saturday when the Rebels take on Eastbourne Borough at Arbour Park.
