Another weekend of pre-season action down as the 2022/23 season edges closer, Football in Berkshire takes a look at the the weekend talking poitns and a few things you might have missed.
From ‘that’ new Reading FC Women kit to Temi Eweka’s late arrival at Hungerford Town, we also look in on Ascot United’s Sarah Davern’s podcast appearance and a real Soccer Sixes vibe in the Combined Counties League next season.
The new Reading FC Women kit is getting a bit of attention

But to be honest, we’re just happy to see Emma Harries up and about. Fingers crossed she’ll be ready to get back out there soon enough next season.
Bulpit Beast gets big thumbs up

We’ve written about this elsewhere but it’s worth clicking here for the facial expressions as the Bulpit Beast is devoured.
Get that Soccer Sixes vibe

By our reckoning, it’s Barry Hayles at Windsor, Jamie Ashdown and James Harper (although we haven’t seen confirmation of the latter returning to the Yellamen yet) and now Mikele Leigertwood at Wokingham & Emmbrook. More to follow on that one in due course.
Speaking of Hayles, the ex-Fulham and Jamaica striker was in the Daily Star last week courtesy of our own Andrew Batt.
Hungerford Town vs Maidenhead United had plenty of moments
They’re everywhere this week! But thanks to Crusaders photographer Jeff Youd there’s plenty of action images from the weekends friendly between Hungerford and Maidenhead.
We had Sam Barratt scoring a scorcher of a free-kick past Mark Scott, plus Temi Eweka ‘arriving’ into a tackle on Joel Rollinson.

“How did I know it would be Temi Eweka” said former Bracknell Town teammate Michael Eacott.

Ascot United’s Sarah Davern on County podcast
Yellawomen forward Sarah Davern featured on the excellent Grassroots Coach podcast last week fresh from causing mischief at the Berkshire Football Awards. Well worth a listen this one.
Her mate @frankirby might have scored a cracker last week but Sarah's played a blinder here:
