Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North Tadley Calleva have confirmed the departure of manager Gareth Thomas.

Thomas took over at the North Hampshire side in the summer from Adam Clark and was in the dugout for Tuesday nights 3-1 defeat at Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Calleva have yet to post a win in the league this season and are currently bottom with one point from nine games – earned in a 1-1 draw at home to Reading City at the end of August.

In a statement posted on Twitter, chairman Sandy Russell said: “It is with regret that, after a discussion with First Team Manager Gareth Thomas, we have mutually agreed to part ways. I am really sorry to see Gareth leave, as I fully appreciate the commitment and hard work he has put in to take our club forward.

“Unfortunately, due to several mitigating factors, results haven’t gone our way. I’d like to put on record my sincere thanks to Gareth for his professional and positive approach during his time with us and I wish him every success for the future.

“The club will now take the time necessary to find Gareth’s successor and will make a further announcement in due course.”
