"Cooper-Clark. SCORES. HE ALWAYS SCORES"

Bracknell Town have confirmed the return of their former talisman Shane Cooper-Clark after four incredibly successful seasons in West Berkshire with Thatcham Town.

The club confirmed Cooper-Clark’s return on social media on Thursday evening after featuring as a trialist in a number of the Robins pre season friendlies.

Cooper-Clark originally joined the Robins under Steve Nebbett and Danny Oliphant in the summer of 2012 scoring 12 goals in two seasons.

His breakout year though came in 2014/15 for Bracknell when under Ed Carpenter and subsequently Keith Pennicott-Bowen he fired 34 goals in 35 games, winning the Hellenic League’s player of the season award.

He continued that vein of form in to 2015/16 with 15 in 23 games but the departure of Pennicott-Bowen saw Cooper-Clark head west to Thatcham where he scored a further 10 in 19 games.

The following three full seasons at Thatcham coincided with a bit of a golden period for the club including 95 Hellenic League Premier Division goals and this penalty to win the FA Vase in 2018.

In a recent interview with Football in Berkshire, Cooper-Clark highlighted the effect former boss Keith Pennicott-Bowen had had on his career, especially since joining him as a coach at Thatcham.

Shane said: “He showed a lot of belief in me, he put his faith in me which helped. It grows your confidence. He was a good manager Bowse but he didn’t get the resources [at Bracknell] to help us push on.”
