Bracknell Town’s attacking duo of Liam Ferdinand and Joe Grant have been selected to represent the FA in an ambassadorial match on the Falkland Islands.
Ferdinand is in the main squad and Grant has been added to the contingency list for the fixture that will take place between Wednesday 7th November and Tuesday 13th November.
The dates mean both players could miss the Robins Bostik League away day to Chalfont St Peter on Saturday 10th November.
Football in Bracknell understands the squad will be managed by former Barnet manager Paul Fairclough – the man in charge of the England C squad that gave former Robin Sam Barratt a pair of England caps.
Bracknell Town tweeted their delight at the duo’s inclusion. Writing: “The club are proud to have striker Liam Ferdinand called up to represent an England FA XI on an ambassadorial trip to play the Falkland Islands next month. He’s part of a 16 man squad made up of mainly step 4 players. Robins’ winger Joe Grant has also made the contingency list.”
