Berks County miss out on Madejski Stadium final

Unfortunately for Berks County their BTC Senior Cup Semi Final at Scours Lane in Reading, Berkshire was all over after 11 minutes.

The Thames Valley Premier League side had been hopeful of a final appearance at Madejski Stadium but opponents Cookham Dean had other ideas, taking a 2-0 lead inside the opening 11 minutes.

The first goal on 9 minutes saw a cross from the left well finished and then some poor defending two minutes later left the Swords with a mountain to climb.

Cookham scored a third to make it 3-0 on the hour and that’s how it finished, the Dean goals coming from Joe Newman (2) and Christian Barber.

Dean will meet the winners of the other semi final between Reading YMCA and Woodcote Stoke Row which is due to be played on Wednesday 2nd May.
