Holders Bracknell Town are through to the semi finals of the Bluefin Sport Hellenic League Challenge Cup after a 1-0 win at Virginia Water on Tuesday night.

Bracknell gave starts to Elliott Legg and Max Herbert amongst a number of changes as well as a welcome return for Damien Smith but it was another familiar face who scored the only goal of the game when TJ Bohane latched on to Herbert’s pass on 43 minutes.

There was a cameo for Joe Grant who was a late substitute but it was his counterpart wing wizard Seb Bowerman who almost doubled the lead on 71 minutes. His free kick eluded the wall, the goalkeeper but unfortunately not the upright.

In Tuesday nights other Quarter Final Abingdon United beat Wantage Town 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

The remaining Hellenic League Cup Quarter Final ties are:

  • Windsor vs Easington Sports (24/03)
  • Didcot Town Reserves OR Thatcham Town v Binfield (TBC)

In the Floodlit Cup, Binfield reached the Floodlit Cup final following a 3-1 win over Flackwell Heath at Hill Farm Lane.
