Binfield’s unbeaten run came to and end on Monday night as Windsor came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in an Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division fixture at Hill Farm Lane.
The match was goalless at half time but the the Moles raced in to a 2-0 lead early in the second thanks to goals from centre back Gary Smith and Josh Howell, the latter scoring on 61 minutes while FA Vase quarter finalists Windsor’s fightback began four minutes later.
First Matthew Woods reduced the deficit and top scorer Nadir Shafi levelled with his 14th goal of the season on 87 minutes before an own goal off Will Shaw ensured Mick Woodham’s side completed the job.
Binfield boss Roger Herridge tweeted after the game: “Not felt like this for a while ….how we got nothing out of the game I don’t know but a great comeback by our opponents all the same. Lots of positives but we need to learn to see games out.”
