As part of our regular media round up, Binfield manager Roger Herridge has been speaking to the Wokingham Paper about the enforced squad changes over the summer at Hill Farm Lane and is very excited about one player in particular.
Clive Akem-Che recently signed Hellenic League forms for the Moles after playing 28 times for Ellis Woods development side last season and Herridge said: “I’m really excited about a boy who played all his football last year in our development team, Clive Akem-Che, who I think could really step up and turn a few heads this year.”
Herridge was talking to the Wokingham Papers Tom Crocker about the loss of players such as Liam Ferdinand and Harrison Bayley as well as the trio of Alex Luis, Michael Walton and Alex Walton who have all decided to take a break from football.

Elsewhere, Burnham – saved from relegation to Division 1 East by the voluntary demotion of Ardley United – may just have a bit of stability at the Gore after manager Mark Betts committed to the club full time having previously combined the role with that of academy manager at Slough Town.
Betts made the break after 7 years with the upwardly mobile Rebels and said to the Maidenhead Advertiser after learning the club had earned a reprieve: “Three weeks ago we found out Burnham were staying in the Premier Division,” he said. “That changed everything, the players we were looking at, our pre-season fixtures, everything.
“We’ll get there and have had healthy numbers at training.
“The boys have shown excellent commitment and their timekeeping has been exceptional. Most of them are local lads so it means more to them and they’re excited to be here.”
Windsor have confirmed former Fulham striker Barry Hayles will sign for them, but the deal isn’t quite done yet reports the Windsor Observer.
45-year-old Hayles had been training with the Royalists with a view to a player coach role. The Royalists have also, according to the Observer signed Ascot United midfielder Paul Coyne and Jack Denton while Barry Dunbar and Robert Lazarczuk have both left the club.
