Wokingham & Emmbrook members celebrate ‘coming home’

There were celebrations for all involved with Wokingham & Emmbrook Football Club last night as planning approval was granted for improvements to the clubs Lowther Road ground.

The permission means the Satsumas’ have a permanent base in the town after years and years of hard work for the first time since they left Finchampstead Road in 1999.

Full details of what will happen at Lowther Road here, and a bit more via this excellent report from Lewis Rudd at the Wokingham Paper here.

Here’s what the clubs supporters had to say, and former manager Dan Bateman was delighted.

Paul is happy.

Division 1 East rivals passed on their congratulations.

The club captain was all smiles.

Cheers Tony!

But we’ll let Clive have the last word..
