Binfield 2 Wokingham 1: Etienne wins it for Moles, heartbreak for Sumas

There will be a new name on the Reading Senior Cup in 2016 as holders Wokingham & Emmbrook crashed out at the quarter final stage to last seasons beaten finalists Binfield at Hill Farm Lane.

Binfield boss Roger Herridge kept us all guessing with reports around squad availability, but as it was he had Liam Ferdinand to thank for opening the scoring before Luke Scope equalised before the break.

Wokingham – torrid season as they’ve had – were never going to give up their title easily and also had a number of players returning.

As it was, it was a new man in at Binfield – Jean-Claude Etienne the former Maidenhead United youngster fresh from a two goal haul on Saturday who won it at the death to send the Moles into a quarter final date with Highmoor-IBIS.
