Former Berks County forward Shaquille Johnson has followed in his brothers footsteps and signed for Combined Counties League Premier Division North Thatcham Town.
Johnson joined Premier Division South Fleet Town in the summer from the Swords and has made five appearances, the most recent being the 4-3 Hampshire Senior Cup win over Tadley Calleva where he scored his first two goals of the season.
Shaquille’s elder brother Jemel Johnson was part of the Kingfisher’s victorious 2018 FA Vase winning side – he was a 70th-minute substitute for Jordan Brown in the final.
The two later played against each for Windsor & Eton and Reading City, respectively.
Wokingham Town meanwhile have signed Shaun Govia-Jackson and Maurice Black.
Last week, Sumas boss Matt Eggleston told Football in Berkshire’s Dave Wright: “I think we have added more quality than we had last season.
“I am not finished, and there are still a few tweaks here and there tobe made to the side, as you have got to get a squad strong enough to cover for injuries, suspensions and players not being available.
“I’ve got my eye on two players at the moment.”
Southern League Hungerford Town meanwhile have tied down August Player of the Month Fraser Bell to a two year contract. An announcement on social media said: “We’re delighted to announce that the talented young full-back has signed a two-year contract with Hungerford Town.
“Since making his debut last month, Fraser has impressed with his performances & potential. Congratulations, Fraser!”
