A number of Berkshire sides have made statement transfers this week with Ascot United bringing in Binfield and former Holyport forward Kickie Dzimba.
The Yellas are firmly in the Isthmian League South Central Division play-off race, sitting third on 50 points behind Farnham Town and Kingstonian, although Jamie Tompkins side have played at least one more games than the teams around them.
Dzimba, impressive over several seasons in the Combined Counties League with Holyport, joined Binfield this season from Uxbridge who he joined in the summer, scoring six times in 12 games for the Moles.
Speaking on Dzimba, and fellow new signing Louis Rogers in a recent matchday programme, Tompkins wrote: “I’m also pleased to welcome two new signings to the squad. Louis Rogers joins us from Marlow, bringing experience and leadership, having been part of a team that knows what it takes to earn promotion from this league. Alongside him, Kickie Dzimba arrives from Binfield, a young and emerging talent with the potential to make a big impact here. Both players add quality and depth to the squad, and I’m excited to see what they can contribute in the coming weeks.”

Slough Town meanwhile may still harbour play-off ambitions but have slipped to mid-table after a very strong start to the season. Scott Davies side are 10 points off the top seven and have brought back defender Guy Hollis to boost options at the back.
Hollis, a veteran of the Neil Baker and Jon Underwood era, made his latest debut on Saturday in the 0-0 draw with Eastbourne Borough but didn’t feature in Tuesday nights impressive 2-2 draw with Torquay United – a result that knocked the Gulls off the top of the Vanarama National League South table.
Across to the Combined Counties League Premier Division South where it was announced – to no small fanfare – Brett Denham had made a return to play-off chasing Tadley Calleva.

The Romans social media channels said: “Tadley-Calleva’s all-time leading goalscorer returns to Barlows Park to strengthen the group as we continue to hunt a play-off position. With 6 goals in 13 games for Whitchurch United already this season, we are excited to have Brett straight into the squad for tomorrow’s clash at Alton. Brett is still dual-registered with Whitchurch and we thank them for their co-operation. Welcome home, Brett.”
Denham came off the bench against Alton and then scored his 252nd goal for the club off the bench in Saturday’s thrilling 5-4 win over Sandhurst Town.
Outside of a major collapse for AFC Whyteleafe, Redhill and Jersey Bulls, there are likely two play-off spots in play and the Romans – with the addition of the experienced Denham – are well placed to take one.
Tadley are at home to Jersey at Barlows Park on Saturday in a 1pm kick-off. Slough Town are away to Tonbridge Angels while Ascot head to Rayners Lane – both games at 3pm.
