FA Vase winning striker Jemel Johnson has joined the Royalist revolution and signed up for a season with Windsor & Eton in the Thames Valley Premier League.
Johnson must have liked what he saw when the Cityzens lined up against Windsor two weeks ago – specifically with his younger brother Shaquille in a starring role and has now joined up with Matty Angell’s side.
Johnson, a two time Vase finalist with Thatcham Town and Binfield, had been with Reading City for several seasons but had started the season with the Cityzens under 23 side in the TVPL.
Commenting on the signing, Angell said: “I have known JJ for a number of years and I wanted to bring in a player of his experience and quality into the group, he knows the club having played for them under Dave Mudge and he will give us energy and another goal threat.”
Johnson made his debut on Saturday in a hard-fought 3-2 win over Finchampstead at Stag Meadow.
