The Telegraph is reporting that Reading FC Women defender Gemma Evans is headed to FA WSL side Manchester United.
According to the broadsheet: “Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Wales defender Gemma Evans, Telegraph Sport can reveal.”
Welsh international Evans, who has almost a half-century of caps for her country, originally joined the Royals in 2021 from Bristol City.
Evans is the latest expected departure following Reading’s decision to revert to part-time status following relegation from the FA Women’s Super League.
Captain Emma Mukandi has already left following the expiry of her contract while Faye Bryson and Chloe Peplow.
