Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North Wokingham & Emmbrook have added experienced defender Gareth Thomas to their squad.

Last season he locked horns with the Sumas in the dugout as Tadley Calleva boss, today he’s joined up with the Lowther Park side to continue his playing career.

Thomas, a long serving member of Thatcham Town’s FA Vase winning side had also spent time with Bracknell Town where he was forced to ‘retire’ through injury in 2021.

However he has successfully resumed his playing career after some time in the dugout with Tadley last year.

Speaking on the clubs website, Sumas boss Eliot Whitehouse said: “Gareth is an experienced player at this level and will bring great leadership qualities with a winning mentality. We look forward to seeing him in a Wokingham shirt.”

The Sumas have also reportedly signed up former Reading FC and QPR midfielder Mikele Leigertwood.
