Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division North Wokingham & Emmbrook have added experienced defender Diak John to their squad.
The 35-year-old former Hungerford Town, Chippenham Town and Bracknell Town full-back will bring a wealth of experience to Lowther Road having played at the highest level of non-league football with Hayes & Yeading United.
John joins the Sumas with important fixtures coming up against Wembley and Spelthorne Sports. Wokingham are currently second bottom of the division but have shown more than enough since Eliot Whitehouse took over the hot-seat to suggest the club can remain in the division this season.
Whitehouse’s side have had a tough run of fixtures against sides gunning for promotion and were narrowly beaten by Edgware Town last time out.
John was most recently with National League South Hungerford Town and will certainly not lack fitness. A statement released by the Crusaders in 2017 said: “[John] Boardman & [Ian] Herring are both pleased to announce the signing of left-sided full back Diak John. John who was with the Crusaders at the start of last season left shortly after the National League South campaign started, to enter Body Building competitions and start a Personal Training business. After a successful 12 months in competitions, John has readied himself back to fitness to compete with the Crusaders.”
