Christmas has come early in the royal county as Reading confirm the signing of midfielder, Sanne Troelsgaard on and two and a half year deal.
The experienced Dane comes from a four year stint at Damallsvenskan side FC Rosengård where she’s made 107 appearances for the club and netted 30 goals. A one time winner and two time runner up, she’s no stranger to cup triumphs and will no doubt be looking to push for some at Reading. Women’s football fans may be familiar with FC Rosengård as the side were formerly managed by current Arsenal manager, Jonas Eidevall.
Troelsgaard has been a stalwart of the Denmark national team making her debut way back in 2008. She has since made 158 appearances and scored 52 goals.
Signing for the Royals marks the Dane’s first experience playing in England having previously played for Brøndby IF and KoldingQ amongst others. She’ll be vital to bolstering the side’s central play since the loss of Fara Williams, Angharad James and Jess Fishlock in the summer. She brings valued experience to the squad too as the current Reading bench is made up of predominantly academy players who boast an average age of just 17 years old.
