Two-goal Wembley star Liam Ferdinand has decided on his future for the forthcoming 2021/22 season, and he’ll be playing with the boys in blue!
Ferdinand – scorer of both Binfield’s goals in the FA Vase Final – has signed for Southern League Premier Division side Met Police.
The striker, who has also played for Bracknell Town, Hungerford Town and Thatcham Town, had been turning out for Harrow Borough last season but rejoined Binfield on dual-registration after the league season was curtailed to help the clubs bid to reach Wembley.
Speaking to Dave Wright recently, Binfield joint-manager Jamie McClurg had said the Moles would speak with Ferdinand, particularly with the club preparing for a first season at step 4, but Ferdinand has decided to continue his career a level higher.
Announcing the news on Twitter, the Met Police FC account said: “Welcome to TWO time Wembley goal scorer, Liam Ferdinand who today has signed! Liam signs from Harrow Borough, but helped Binfield in the their Vase run, having also had experience step 2 with Hungerford Town in his career. Welcome to the Blues, Liam.”
Ferdinand scored six goals in five games for Binfield, including the two at Wembley in the defeat to Warrington Rylands.
