While we know it’s still a long time before the new season will begin, we couldn’t resist bringing you the news of a few players who have committed to play for Hungerford Town next season. Danny Robinson has acted quickly in securing the services of eight players for next season.
Former Thatcham Town and Newbury midfielder Callum Willmoth is a familiar face in west Berkshire football having played over 150 times for Thatcham. Willmoth has had a recent spell with Hungeford, however, this was cut short when he suffered an ACL injury during the 2017/18 season.
Defender Matt Partridge, who began his career at Reading, also Robinson’s men. Partridge has had spells at Newport County, Basingstoke Town and Dagenham & Redbridge, and is another player who is returning to Bulpit Lane for another spell with the Crusaders.
Forward Conor Lynch has re-signed for another season with Hungerford at Bulpit Lane. He is a known quantity for Robinson having spent a spell on loan at Thatcham recently. Other players committing to come back next season are goalkeeper Tommy Rees and Dan Bailey.
Perhaps the most high profile signing for Hungerford so far this break is striker James Harding who comes with a glowing reputation. Harding came through Maidenhead United Youth’s system before spells at the likes of Flackwell Heath, Yate and Gloucester City.
Full-back Matt Berry-Hargreaves, who has had time on Oxford United’s books as well as a short spell at Bracknell Town is another returning to Hungerford Town for next season. The versatile James Rusby has also committed to the Crusaders for another year.
