BetVictor Isthmian League South Central Division One side Bracknell Town have announced the signing of goalkeeper James Holden on a short term loan deal.
The goalkeeper has joined from Reading FC as cover for number one and captain Mark Scott who is due to start a three match suspension after being sent off in the FA Trophy victory over Coggeshall Town.
Holden only recently joined the Royals under 18 side from EFL League One Bury and will vie with Joe Whiter – who replaced Scott last Saturday – for the Bracknell goalkeeping jersey.
The goalkeeper is one of a number of players who have moved on from the Shakers following the clubs expulsion from the Football League.
Speaking about his new signing, Bracknell manager Sam Lock said: “Bracknell have a very close working relationship with Reading, which has been going from strength to strength in recent months. I also have good relationships within the set up at Reading. So when Scotty received the ban it was a very easy process. James comes to us very highly rated.
“He’s just finished a short loan spell at Bognor where he did really well.”
According to the website Football Wonderkids, Holden began his career at Luton Town playing in the under 18s and under 23s. He joined Bury in February 2019.
