Slough Town joint-manager Neil Baker hinted at it in a chat with Football in Berkshire last week but it’s now official. Joe Grant is a Vanarama National League player.
The former Ascot United and Bracknell Town attacker was confirmed as signing forms for Slough on the clubs website on Sunday.
Grant featured in Saturday’s win against Hayes & Yeading United as well as several other pre season friendlies for the Rebels with Baker saying after the 4-3 defeat to Eastleigh: “He played for us three years ago when he was at Ascot United and we were in the Southern League Premier Division. He wasn’t strong enough at time but he’s gone away and obviously improved at Bracknell.
“He’s a quick strong boy with plenty of confidence!”
Grant is among a trio of former Bracknell and Hellenic League players to make the step up to the National League this summer with Dan Roberts part of Slough’s plans after a superb season for Windsor and Liam Ferdinand joining Hungerford Town.
However, according to the Slough website, Grant will now have to wait a few weeks for his next chance after picking up an ankle injury on Saturday.
