Jamie Tompkins confirms three players retained for the new season

Jamie Tompkins has been busy signing up members of his cup winning 2018/19 Ascot United squad with three more names added to the list.

Harry Laflin, Ben Hodges and Josh Nice have all been re-signed for the clubs first Combined Counties League Premier Division meaning the bulk of the side that finished seventh in the Hellenic Premier last season has returned.

Former Binfield midfielder Laflin in particular was a key member of the squad scoring 13 goals in 44 games for the Yellamen while Hodges made 18 appearances and Nice one.

Speaking to Football in Berkshire, Tompkins said: “Delighted to retain key player Harry Laflin, a very talented individual and had a big impact on the team last season. Ben Hodges has been performing exceptionally well in training and matches. Josh Nice the same and both looking to become key players this season.”

The Yellamen were in action on Saturday against a Maidenhead United XI and will head to Surrey to face Abbey Rangers on Saturday.
