AFC Aldermaston have, so far at least, been the busiest club in the non league transfer market since registrations opened on Saturday and have added another player expected to have a big impact at the Rec Soc in 2017/18.

Ben Broadhurst, the Wokingham & Emmbrook central midfielder joins former Finchampstead flyer Chace Jewell in signing for Kieran Jennings side ahead of the Hellenic League Division 1 East campaign.

Broadhurst featured 27 times for Clive McNelly’s Wokingham side last season scoring three goals, one of those was in the Sumas final league game of the season at home to Chalfont Wasps.

On the Atomics website, Jennings said: “Very pleased with the signing of Ben, he was one of my top two transfer targets for the summer, both of which we has now sealed.”

The Atom Men suffered a 4-2 defeat to Thames Valley Premier Divsion side Mortimer on Tuesday night but easily brushed aside Taplow United 5-0 on Saturday and have a  busy programme of pre season fixtures ahead.
