Binfield manager Roger Herridge has announced the signature of Flackewell Heath midfielder Liam Whyte.

And in a strange coincidence, the youngster goes straight in to the Moles squad to face Sandhurst Town in the Bluefin Sports Hellenic League Challenge Cup third round tie – the club he represents at Allied Counties Youth League level.

Whyte made six senior appearances for Heathens as well as three for the reserve team while also making three appearances for Sandhurst who are second in the Allied Counties Premier Division.

Binfield and Sandhurst meet on Saturday afternoon at Hill Farm Lane bidding for a place in the fourth round of the League Cup where they will play either Brackley Town Saints or Holyport.

The Moles saw midfielder James Suarez end a short spell with the club last week – he joined Division 1 East leaders Penn & Tylers Green.
