Reading Women sign New Zealand international full-back

Anna Green is the latest signing at Reading Women, hot on the heels of Dutch international Mandy van den Berg and Northern Irish international Rachel Furness.

Green has played 60 times for New Zealand and played in two Women’s World Cups and joins from Swedish side Mallbackens IF.

The 26-year-old has experience in England having played for Notts County but has also played for Sydney and Adelaide United in Australia and Lokomotive Leipzig in Germany.

On signing for the Royals, Green said “I’ve only heard good things about Reading and the professional environment you guys have here. It’s tough to come up from WSL2 and to stay up here [in WSL1] is a massive achievement, so I’m excited to be involved with a club that’s capable of doing this”

Reading manager Kelly Chambers said: “Anna is a great attacking player and a great athlete. She has great attributes that give us a different dimension to our team on the pitch. I can’t wait to introduce her to the team and get working with her”.
