Binfield FC manager Roger Herridge has added experienced Hellenic Premier Division striker Jon Bennett to bolster the Moles forward line.

Bennett, the former Ascot United favourite joins the Hill Farm Lane side from Southern League side Marlow and has also played for Thatcham Town and Flackwell Heath.

While at Thatcham last season, Bennett scored 17 goals in 25 appearances as well as a further seven in six games for Flackwell Heath.

According to the Hellenic League FA Full Time site, Bennett also managed six appearences and one goal for Flackwell this season, as well as two appearances for Thatcham.

When Bennett left Ascot – the club he played for since he was nine years old – then manager Jeff Lamb said in the Bracknell News: “We will miss him but I’m genuinely pleased he’s made the step up.

“Losing JB is a blow, he’s difficult to replace but I’m hoping we’ve got enough.”

Bennett was on the bench for Binfield’s home tie with Ardley United and came off the bench in the second half for Matt Jones.
