Woodley United have signed Binfield midfielder Danny Horscroft ahead of the Kestrels Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East kick-off at Rayners Lane on Saturday according to the clubs website.

Michael Herbert’s side saw their game at Headington Amateur’s postponed last weekend after a double booking in Oxfordshire and will now play catch up in the division.

Horscroft played 28 times for Binfield last season scoring seven goals and completed the gruelling Lands End to John O’Groats cycle ride toward the end of the season.

He played once for the Moles this season coming off the bench after 71 minutes of the 2-1 opening day defeat of Henley Town and will add an experienced head to the Kestrels midfield as they look to improve on a last place finish in 2015/16.

Binfield announced earlier this week that they had signed Henley Town midfielder Asa Povey and he made his debut in the 4-0 drubbing of Burnham on Monday night.

Horscroft has previous Division 1 East experience having played for Wokingham & Emmbrook and he’ll renew acquaintances with his former club on 5th November when Woodley visit Lowther Road.
