Windsor & Eton one step closer to title with Adam Crocker winner

Royalists, Yateley United and Tadley Calleva all post impressive wins

Combined Counties League Division One leaders Windsor & Eton took another step toward the title and promotion with a 2-1 win at home to Bedfont.

Jatinder Liddar opened the scoring for Windsor the visitors levelled before the break. Adam Crocker, marking a second appearance back for Matt Angell’s side scored the winner on 70 minutes.

Yateley United moved a step closer to finishing in the top five with a 5-1 win at home to Holmer Green, Ollie Burke scoring a hat-trick for the North Hants side. Neighbours Eversley & California though were beaten 3-1 by PFC Victoria London.

On Friday night, Windsor were beaten 2-1 at home to FC Deportivo Galicia – Troy Williams scoring Windsor’s goal.

In the Premier Division North, Virginia Water kept up the play-off pace, beating Harefield United 3-2 at Arbour Park thanks to an own goal and strikes from Turnell Sinclair and Cal Hamilton.

Wokingham Town suffered a heavy 6-0 defeat at Bedfont Sports while Holyport were beaten 2-0 at Broadfields United.

Tadley Calleva bounced back and then some from a recent poor run of form, winning 6-0 at Horley Town with goals from Connor Thorne, Kieran Rodgers (2), Ash Neal (2) and Brad Neal.
