Fulham raced out the blocks from the moment the whistle blew for kick off and kept Maidenhead on their toes for 90 minutes.
But it was the Magpies who were first on the scoresheet as a striding run down the left wing from Simone O’Brien kept the ball in play and her cross into the box found Natalie Cowell who was able to set up Izzy Stockton beautifully and she powered home from inside the 18 yard box.
Fulham answered back inside 10 minutes with a well taken strike by Tess Allen and the game looked all but over at the beginning of the second half when they struck again with 53 minutes on the clock.
But Maidenhead were dogged till the end and a Macey-Nikiah Walters freekick found the head of captain, Sarah Thompson and the Magpies were level with mere minutes left on the clock.
With two goals a piece at the final whistle, it was straight to penalties to decide the winner and the Magpies triumphed when Fulham’s second shot flew over the crossbar.
A piece of silverware in a season marred at times by injury, spent rebuilding and one which smashed club records, Ed Jackson-Norris’ side have secured a trophy for the first time since their North Hampshire FA Women’s Cup win back in 2016.
