Southern League Premier Division South Bracknell Town are on the verge of a stunning return to the Step 3 play-offs after a 3-1 win over Winchester City.
The Robins are level on points with Merthyr Town in the table although the Welsh side have a game in hand and play Winchester away on Tuesday night.
Goalkeeper Michael Eacott was the star man but it was goals from Ralph Vigrass, Great Evans and Jordan Esprit that won the tie and put Bracknell within touching distance of a play-off spot.
Last season the Robins lost in agonising circumstances in the play-off final against Truro City after finishing runners up and three points behind champions Weston-super-Mare.
New manager Jordan Ive has masterminded a late run this season with only champions Chesham United and Hayes & Yeading United in the way in their two final match – though Bracknell will need Merthyr to drop points in order to make it.
