Bracknell Town bounced back from an opening day defeat to record an impressive victory over Didcot Town at Bottom Meadow in the Southern League.

New captain Ashley Lodge starred as the Robins – back in a more traditional red and white strip – beat the Railwaymen 5-1 to put a smile on supporters faces.

That’s not to say Bracknell had it all their own way, Didcot opened the scoring on 49 minutes before Lodge levelled on the hour.

The Robins express then hit full throttle with 10 minutes to play, Zidan Akers made it 2-1 with an own goal following for 3-1.

Then, two goals in injury time as Jordan Esprit got a much need strike and substitute Nana Owusu made it a 5-1 rout.

An early season Berkshire derby is next up with Hungerford Town at Bottom Meadow – the Crusaders have opened with a big win over Plymouth Parkway before a defeat to Chesham United on Saturday.
