Bobby Wilkinson’s Bracknell Town put on a display of relentless intensity on Monday night to ultimately sweep aside a Harrow Borough side previously unbeaten in both Pitching In Southern League Premier South matches played thus far.
The hosts were ahead inside two minutes at The SB Group Stadium. Magnus Suen Jr Abisogun chased onto a long ball and finished intelligently into the far corner.
Within five minutes however the hard-working visitors were level with a special goal of their own. Montel Brown it was who cut inside and fired a snapshot that Robins goalkeeper Simon Grant could only get the barest of fingertips to as the ball powered into the roof of his net.
In a fast and thrilling half, the sides exchanged good chances with Abisogun and James Ewington for the visitors failing to hit the target from promising positions. Bracknell did however lead before the break when Grant’s long free-kick was nodded into danger by the impressive George Knight for centre-half Dan Bayliss to sweep home with a controlled finish.
Bracknell set pieces caused the Borough issues all night and inside ten minutes of the second period they had daylight as Adam Richards emphatically nodded home a Darryl Sanders corner. Thereafter Baylis and Richards should both have scored from Robins set pieces.
Jordan Esprit put a golden opportunity the wrong side of the post before substitute Mickel Platt was denied by Harrow’s on loan West Ham and former England U17 ‘keeper Jacob Knightbridge. The fourth did arrive in the final minutes as Seb Bowerman slotted home a penalty following a foul in the box to cap off a hugely impressive Robins performance.
