Westwood Wanderers take advantage and top Thames Valley Premier League

Marlow United 1 – 2 Westwood Wanderers

Westwood Wanderers moved to the top of the Thames Valley Premier League on Saturday with a 2-1 victory at Marlow FC. Goals from Ross Storrar and Thomas Bullion were enough for Wanderers to earn all three points and take them above Finchampstead at the TVPL summit.

Mortimer 1 – 3 Richings Park

Richings Park won against Mortimer for the second successive weekend, this time away from home. Andre Raposa, Tommy Austin and Marco Raposo scored the goals for Park with James Croft scoring the home side’s goal. Mortimer have now lost six games on the trot, while Richings Park are now in fourth place.

Reading City U23 2 – 6 Burghfield

A high scoring Saturday for Burghfield who had Oliver Brown, Jordan Cox, Billy Margetts and two from James McCellan to thank for a victory at Reading City. Burghfield are now 2nd in the table with the same number of points as leaders Westwood Wanderers. Burghfield face Westwood next weekend in a game that will test the title credentials of both sides.

Reading YMCA 3 – 1 Woodley United Royals

Woodley United Royals remain rooted to the bottom of the Thames Valley Premier League after an away loss in Padworth. Ryan Adams, Aaron Perrin and Nick Reynolds scored for the home side who were 2-0 up at half-time.

Wraysbury 2 – 3 Maidenhead Town

An Aleksandar Yankov brace and Jake Wheeler strike earned all three points for Maidenhead Town in Staines on Saturday. A goal from the home side from Codie Sumner in reply wasn’t enough for the home side.

The game between Wargrave and Finchampstead was abandoned following an injury while Yateley United vs Windlesham & Chobham was also abandoned.
