Maidenhead United made it six league games unbeaten on Tuesday night, drawing 0-0 with Aldershot Town.

The Magpies made two changes from the side that beat Chesterfield at the weekend. Ryheem Sheckleford came in for Josh Coley who dropped to the bench whilst Seth Twumasi replaced injured George Wells at left-back.

Similarly to Saturday, Maidenhead were forced into an early substitution as Dan Sparkes pulled up just past the half way mark before making way for Coley.

Before that though, former Magpies forward Mike Fondop could have broken the dead-lock on 15 minutes had his effort not gone wide of the post.

With five minutes remaining of the first half, Shaun Donnellan forced Shots ‘keeper Bradley James into a save as the scores remained level.

The Magpies maintained their attacking threat in the second half and were handed a boost when Fondop received a straight red following a nasty challenge on Manny Parry.

However, the visitors were unable to find the decisive goal that would have lifted them to second in the league, but it was another point on the board nonetheless.

Ryan Peters stepped in for Alan Devonshire again on Tuesday and was proud of the Magpies’ unbeaten run but admitted it wasn’t their best performance.

Speaking to the Magpies’ media team, he said: “From our point it wasn’t great. If you have a look at our performances over the last six games, we’ve definitely played a lot better.

“However, it shows our resilience to keep a clean sheet against a team where their goals per minute are up there with us.”

The Magpies face Bromley on Saturday as they aim to stretch their unbeaten run to seven. Details on how to stream the game will be available here.
