FC Bracknell U16s secured an impressive 7-2 win away at Berks County Lions in Division One of the East Berks Football Alliance.
They went a goal down, but immediately hit back with Ben Newham heading in a corner and the same player put them ahead with a superb shot from 30 yards into the top corner.
An equally good effort from Jack Millon which went in off the crossbar made it 3-1 and Callum Gaskin added a fourth.
Balvindar Birchall, who was his side’s man of the match, scored the goal of the day, picking the ball up in midfield and dribbling past four players including the goalkeeper.
FCB were now in full flow and Olly Clarke bagged a brace to complete an excellent team performance.
In another U16 game, FCB Youth battled hard to win 4-1 at Wargrave Wolves. Sam Godsell, who normally plays in goal, adapted well to a new outfield role and scored a hat-trick, earning him the man-of-the-match award. Nathan Collins netted the other goal.
It wasn’t such a good day for the U16 Colts, as they went down 7-1 on Ascot United Aces’ new 3G pitch with Sam Proctor their player of the match.
FCB U15 Colts overcame some tough challenges to defeat Twyford Comets Reds 5-1.
Edward Bumpass and Hayden Mills put them two goals up, but Twyford pulled one back from the penalty spot before half-time.
They then withstood heavy pressure before extending their lead through Bumpass, who has now scored four goals in two games, Charlie Bray and Vincent Nyame. Their man of the match was Quinn Gow.
Despite fielding only 10 players, FCB U14 Colts defeated Sandhurst Boys & Girls 3-2.
Sammy Lynch, Lewis Cockings and Gabriel Willer were on target as the team secured back-to-back wins for the first time in five years.
Gabriel and Tommy Fraser had particularly good games.
FCB U13s Youth got their league campaign underway against Berks County Wolves, but were edged out 3-2 with the goals coming from Maya Adams, who was their stand-out player, and Alex Di Casola.
