Just the two games in the top tier of the Thames Valley Premier League this week as Richings Park picked up a valuable three points at Reading City under 23 and Woodcote extended their winning run to three games with victory at Newbury.
Elsewhere it was a Berkshire Trophy Centre Senior Cup weekend with Division One promotion chasing Hurst springing a bit of a surprise at home to Premier Division Windlesham United while Division One leaders Wargrave caused an upset of their own at Mortimer.
Newbury 2 Woodcote 3
Woodcote moved above Newbury after their victory in west Berkshire on Saturday. Newbury’s goals came from Carl Jenner and Callum Bush. Woodcote’s three goals were scored by Josh Beisly, Frank Dillon and Jake Dillon.
Reading City U23 0 Richings Park 2
A disappointing afternoon for title chasing Reading City who lost 2-0 at home to mid-table Richings Park. Christian Jones and Ben Whelan the goalscorers for the away team.

Hurst 3 Windlesham United 2
Hurst who lie third in Thames Valley Division One defeated Premier division rivals Windlesham United on Saturday. A brace for Lewis Butcher and a solitary strike from Shaun Bannon were enough to send Hurst through to the next round.

Maidenhead Town 1 Finchampstead 2
A Joel Day double sent Finch into the next round in a tightly fought affair at Bisham Abbey. Jake Wheeler scored a goal with fifteen minutes from time for Town but it wasn’t enough for the home team.

Mortimer 1 Wargrave 4
A disappointing afternoon for the Villagers saw Mortimer lose 4-1 in the Cup. Carl Self scored for the second weekend running but goals from Stuart Moss, Sam Wild and a brace from Joe Wigmore won it for Wargrave. It was an impressive victory for Wargrave who are currently top of the Thames Valley Division One table.
Westwood Wanderers 3 Cookham Dean 2
Top of the table Westwood ran out 3-2 victors over in form Cookham Dean at Theale Recreation ground on Saturday. Goals from George Bullion, Callum McCulloch and Scott Warwick handed Wanderers the victory. Cookham Dean’s goals were scored by Nathan Lishman and Daniel Stacey.
Wraysbury Village 1 Reading YMCA 0
Wraysbury Village narrowly defeated Thames Valley Division One club Reading YMCA on Saturday. Nico Harris was the match winner for the home team.
