FC Fernhill through in County Intermediate Cup

Tony Hardy reviews the weekends Bracknell Sunday League action

Congratulations to FC Fernhill who made it through to the quarter finals of the Berks & Bucks Sunday Intermediate Cup, beating AJ Victoria 4-3. The quarter final ties (not yet drawn) are scheduled to be played on Sunday 12th January.

The one remaining second round tie in the Bracknell Town & District Sunday League Senior Cup between Berks County and Crowthorne Inn was postponed and will now be played on Sunday 8th December. In the League Junior Cup Bearwood Wanderers, AFC Dukes and William Twigg won their ties to progress into the quarter final.

In the only Premier Division game played today, Bracknell Rangers missed the opportunity to move back to the top, held 2-2 by a dogged Loveman United. Loveman twice led in the game through Ryan Millward and Lee Blackman but, despite going down to 10 players, Rangers battled back through goals by Ollie Noyes and Jesse Faulkner. The point moves Rangers into second position, 2 points behind leaders Crowthorne Inn.

Athletico Ascot moved further clear at the top of Division 1 though were held 4-4 by Woodley Saints. Elsewhere Woodley United beat Sandhurst FFC 3-1 to consolidate their mid-table position.

Two games beat the weather in Division 2, Bracknell Cavaliers defeating Golden Farmer Rangers 2-1 whilst Ashbridge Park Royals beat Newbold 4-3, joint top scorer for Mark Doran amongst the goals today for Royals.

Bracknell Spartans moved into 3rd position in Division 3 with an impressive 4-2 win against Winnersh Town, in second.

Silver Birch A moved into 3rd in Division 4 with a 3-1 win against Bracknell Titans.
