Reading FC Women travelled to The Hive home on Barnet FC to face Tottenham Hotspur Women in their opening Group D Continental Cup match
Spurs started strong forcing early saves from Grace Moloney but Reading settled down and dominated proceedings with early chances by Amalie Eikeland being deflected wide and Brooke Chaplen heading over the bar.
With Chaplen working hard up front she opened her Continental Cup account on 31 minutes with a superb strike at the near post, sending the ball past Spencer into the roof of the net. Former Royal Gemma Davison almost equalised just before half time but the ball hit the side netting.

Soon after the break Brooke added another goal on 47 after latching onto a poor back pass, calmly slotting it past Spencer. Two goals in two minutes saw Reading add another to their tally, with a corner driven in, then hitting Nevllie on the back for an own goal.
Despite a few counter attacks Reading put the match out of sight with Millie Farrow lashing home a fourth across the face of the goal on 55.
Kelly Chambers team dominated Spurs at The Hive to win their first 2019-20 Conti Cup match.
