Bracknell Town opened their Isthmian League Velocity Trophy group stage campaign with a 2-1 win over Buckinghamshire neighbours Marlow.

Boss Sam Lock sent out a strong eleven to face their Division One South Central rivals with a first start handed to new signing Marcus Mealing.

James Mulley opened the scoring for the Robins, firing home in the 24th minutes just inside the six yard box and Ousman Darboe made it 2-0 three minutes later with a strike from the edge of the penalty area.

Marlow pulled one back on 33 minutes through Sanchez Parkes and that’s how it stayed.

The Robins are in group 5 of the Velocity Trophy along with Hanwell Town, Chalfont St Peter, Westfield and FC Romania.
