Binfield continued their 100% start to the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division season on Monday night when they beat Virginia Water 2-0 at Hill Farm Lane.

The Moles started new goalkeeper Sam Szymczyk while there was space on the bench for striker Sean Moore on the road back from injury and Josh Howell captained the side with James Knight also on the bench.

For the visitors there were starts for former Binfield midfielder Liam Whyte and ex-Bracknell Town full back Josh Hennah.

Despite some early pressure from the visitors, Josh Helmore gave Binfield a 1-0 half time lead on 39 minutes and Asa Povey made it 2-0 on 57 minutes – and it could have been 3-0 with 10 minutes to go but Povey saw his penalty saved by Waters goalkeeper Matt Jones.

In the other Monday night game, Woodley United came from behind twice to beat Marlow United 4-3 at Scours Lane in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One East.

Both sides had started their campaigns on Saturday with defeats and it was Marlow who took the early lead before Edward Thomas equalised and Max Laschok put the Kestrels in to a 2-1 lead.

It was four goals in the opening half hour as Marlow levelled and then took a 3-2 lead in to half time.

Jono Malone then converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-3 and Joe Sissons fired a 90th minute winner.
