A rare goalless day for Ascot United who were beaten 1-0 at home by Winchester City Flyers in the Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division.
In Division 1 North Wokingham & Emmbrook recorded their biggest win with a 5-0 victory over Benson Lionesses. Alice Lilley (2), Caroline Paterson, Jo Atkins and Liv Shaw all scored for the Sumas while Wargrave and Woodley United’s respective fixtures were postponed.
In the Thames Valley Women’s League Division 2 East Sandhurst Town won 7-4 at the impressive Guildford Saints, Lucy Smith with a hat-trick, Shellie Irvine with two and a goal a-piece for Jessica Loomes and Nicola Dixon.
Binfield won 2-1 at Harefield United and started strongly on one of the longer away days in Division 2 East. Captain Amy Martin gave the side an early lead with a trademark strike from 25 yards but a poor final 20 minutes of the first half allowed the home side back in to the game.
The Moles though rallied and had the majority of the second half – but it took a late strike from Connie Wilson to give Binfield the points.
There was a heavy defeat for Ascot United Reserves who lost 9-1 away to Abbey Rangers.
