Ascot United’s penultimate Southern Region Women’s League Division 1 fixture ended in an important win at Oxford City Nomads.
Title chasing United must win as many of their remaining games as possible and have just three more points to fight for in their race with New Milton Town for the league trophy but did their chances no harm with a 4-2 win in Oxford thanks to goals from Hannah Evans, Amy Woollard and a Holzman-Clark debut.
New Milton have three games in hand and are seven points behind Darrell Evans league leaders Ascot, but were unable to catch up on Sunday after their game with Wycombe Wanderers was postponed.
There was also no match for Woodley United who still have a mathematical chance of taking the title after an unbelievable seven match unbeaten run.

Sandhurst Town Ladies finished their season on a high with a 4-0 win and four goals for Shellie Irvine at home to Holyport giving them a chance of finishing in third in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s League Division 2 South, though they need Taplow United to drop points in their last two games.
United crept up on the Fizzers with a 3-0 win at home to Bracknell Town Reserves.
