It took 16 league games but Bracknell Town Ladies finally earned their first three points of the season in the Southern Region Women’s Premier Division at home to Team Solent who travelled from the South Coast with 10 players.

Bracknell led 1-0 at the break through Katie Stevens and took a 3-0 lead in to the early second half via Caroline Paterson before Solent began a fightback that saw them close the score to 3-2.

With three minutes to go, Paterson completed her hat-trick to finish the Robins season on a high.

In Division One, table topping Ascot United’s game at home to Wycombe Wanderers was postponed but Woodley United made it seven wins in a row with a 2-1 win at Wargrave Ladies.

The win thanks to goals from May Hamblin and Rebecca Lowes gives the Kestrels and outside chance of joining Ascot in promotion to the Premier Division assuming two go up, but they still have to make up four points on second placed New Milton Town.

Sandhurst Town’s shot at promotion from the Thames Valley Counties League Division 2 South is effectively over after a 6-0 defeat at champions Yateley United.

The Fizzers can still finish third with three points in their final game but they won’t be able to leap frog their last opponents Holyport.

Bracknell Town Ladies Reserves penultimate game of the season finished with a 4-1 defeat after Loren Cardy sent the sides in level at 1-1 at half time.

It could have been so different for the Robins though who saw captain Amy Martin miss a second half penalty with the scores level and Bracknell weren’t able to make the chances that fell to Connie Wilson and Ariesha Stephenson-Lewis count while Lynsey Simpson had a great chance with a header midway through the second half but saw it flash wide.
