Goals from Adam Cornell and Joe Grant were enough to see Bracknell Town into the final of the Berks & Bucks County Senior Trophy on Tuesday night after defeating Flackwell Heath 2-1 at Wilks Park.

It was an incident packed opening 20 minutes as Cornell scored the opener on six minutes and there was controversy moments later when Ben Sturgess was sent off for Flackwell Heath – we understand a case of mistaken identity – after a foul on TJ Bohane.

February date for Binfield FC’s County Cup semi-final with Newport Pagnell Town

Playing much of the game with 10-men, the Heathens reacted on 13 minutes with an equaliser through Dan Bayliss but Bracknell’s Grant made it 2-1 on 23 minutes.

There was further controversy in the second half as both sides assistant managers were sent off, while Carl Withers was shown a second yellow card for Bracknell as the match ended 10-v-10.

The Robins will meet the winners of Newport Pagnell Town vs Binfield in the final with the venue and date to be confirmed.
