When the tweet came through at 20.01 on Tuesday night that Binfield had scored first at Ardley United through Liam Ferdinand, you just thought maybe the Moles luck was turning in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League.
It was Ferdinand’s first goal in four games – a great through ball by James Knight and finish as you’ll see in the video – and a well deserved bit of respite for Binfield who are without a win in eight games, but minutes later the hosts equalised from the spot and went on to win 3-1 – sliding in to sixth in the table after a slow start.
Manager Roger Herridge has been deeply frustrated of late and spoke to FiB recently saying: ‘Some Binfield players are fast running out of chances‘.
On Saturday the Moles take a break from league action with a home tie in the Berks & Bucks County Cup against Oxford City Development.

There was plenty of other Hellenic League action on Tuesday night with the biggest surprise being the improving Burnham beating Highmoor-IBIS 3-2 at The Gore with two goals in the last five minutes.
Gifton's got the Blues going! @FC_Burnham score twice late on to beat Highmoor Ibis. A second win in three matches for them. https://t.co/63jilI26qe
