Four teams in action in Hellenic League Division 1 East at the weekend with Finchampstead and Sandhurst Town both looking to bounce back from defeats last weekend while Woodley United have a second weekend off after beating Rayners Lane last time out.

Bicester Town vs AFC Aldermaston

Fresh from a first ever Hellenic League win over Sandhurst Town last weekend, Aldermaston have a tougher test at second placed Bicester Town.

Town only reformed last season after a four year absence and were runners up to current leaders Penn & Tylers Green.

Aldermaston as you’ll know by now finished 7th in the Thames Valley Premier League but after a heavy opening day defeat to Penn they defeated Sandhurst 3-1.

This one should be a good game for local supporters, and our man Mark Pugh will be there photographing the action.

The Satsuma’s got up and running with an excellent 3-1 win last weekend after a surprising opening day defeat but have some ground to make up already on the league leaders.

With the greatest of respect to Aldermaston, we weren’t expecting Sandhurst to suffer a defeat there so this will be a great test of how Luke Turkington’s side respond to a set back.

Wantage Town Reserves vs Finchampstead

Finch will very quickly have to put to bed consecutive 2-1 league defeats, particularly last weeks late penalty miss that saw them drop a point.

And perhaps a trip to Wantage is just the medicine they need.

The Oxfordshire side have scored once this season and conceded 15 times in heavy 8-0 and 7-1 defeats.

All four clubs plus Woodley are in action on Bank Holiday Monday, see the full list of Hellenic Division 1 East fixtures here.
