The FootballinBracknell round-up of the weeks football in the local media includes coverage from the Bracknell News and Swindon Advertiser this week.
Binfield manager Ross Herridge spoke to the Bracknell News’ Dave Wright and called striker Liam Ferdinand ‘head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch’ as the Moles defeated Sandhurst Town 5-2 in the League Cup.
Ferdinand scored four times in the game while the Binfield boss also had praise for defender Alex Walton and new midfield signing Liam Whyte.
Also in the News Bracknell Town manager Mark Tallentire said his side wouldn’t slip up again at Ardley United after exiting the Floodlit Cup a week ago to the team they will face again on Tuesday.
A candid Tallentire said after his sides first defeat since November: “The Ardley pitch was frozen and the game should not have even gone ahead.
“My lads did not get changed until five past seven as they thought it would be called off by the ref. We were all surprised when he said the game was on.”

In the Swindon Advertiser Fairford Town boss Gareth Davies pleased with his sides performance after they returned to Hellenic League Division 1 West with a 3-0 win over Easington Sports.
Davies said: “It’s huge that we got the win because the Clanfield game was so disappointing for obvious reasons. The players realised that if they wanted to achieve anything, they can’t afford not to deliver.”
