Baby Change and Breastfeeding facilities as well as Changing Room improvements are the focus of a new Football Foundation fund to ‘supercharge’ football facilities for women and girls.
The Lionneses HERe to Play Fund has been launched with grants of up to £25,000 available to football clubs across the country.
Designed to make football clubs more inclusive and remove barriers that stop women and girls from stepping onto the pitch, the fund has two strands – one of which includes grants of between £500 and £1,500 to setup a new team or England Football programme to “ensure you have everything it needs like equipment and kit. Funded by The National Lottery and delivered by us, the Fund is open until 30 September 2026.”
The other strand is the facilities fund where clubs can apply for a minimum of £1,500 right up to £25k to improve facilities.
According to the fund’s website: “We’ll fund a maximum grant of £25,000, that does not exceed 75% of the total project costs and you’ll need to contribute the additional 25%.
The minimum grant you can apply for is £1,500.
The grant can only be used for a defined list of eligible items, which are detailed here, but includes Baby Change & Breastfeeding Facilities, Changing Room and Clubhouse improvements as well as Female Officials’ & Player Privacy Changing Spaces.
