The Football Association (FA) has been busy releasing dates and lists of teams entered into the 2026/27 FA Trophy and FA Vase competitions – including which round each team will start in.
Football in Berkshire has been through the list and identified which round each Berkshire team will begin with.
There’s a debutant of sorts in the FA Trophy while in the FA Vase three sides are rewarding for excellent runs last season.
2026/27 FA Trophy
Starting in the FA Trophy Preliminary Round
Weekend of: Saturday 15 August 2026. Prize money: Winners £1,500 Losing team: £400.

- Windsor & Eton
Windsor & Eton are back in the FA Trophy for the first time since 2010 following promotion from the Combined Counties League.

Exempt to the FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round
Weekend of: Saturday 26 September 2026. Prize money: Winners – Winners £2,450 Losing team: £625.
- Bracknell Town
Last season Bracknell reached the Second Round, narrowly losing to Bath City on penalties. In 22/23 the Robins reached the Fifth Round, the clubs best ever performance in the competition.
Exempt to the FA Trophy Second Round Proper
Weekend of: Saturday 14 November 2026. Prize money: Winners £3,750 Losing team: £1,000.

2026/27 FA Vase
Starting in the FA Vase First Qualifying Round
Weekend of: Saturday 15 August 2026. Prize money: Winners £550 Losing club £160.

Maidenhead Town make their debut in the FA Vase following promotion from the Thames Valley Premier League. Thatcham Town won the competition in 2017/18.
Exempt to FA Vase First Round Proper
Weekend of: Saturday 10 October 2026. Prize money: Winners £825 Losing club £250
- Berks County
- Burnham
Both Berks County and Burnham earned exemptions following last seasons journey to the Third Round. Berks County equalled their best ever run in the Vase having only competed for five seasons.
Exempt to FA Vase Second Round Proper
Weekend of: Saturday 31 October 2026. Prize money: Winners £900 Losing club £275
- Reading City
The Cityzens were the last Berkshire side standing in the 2025/26 FA Vase, reaching the Fourth Round. The club had previously never got passed the First Round.
